Rug making is a relatively new endeavor for me. January of 2000 marked my first experience with the joy of hooking. Introduced by my good friend Mary, I was smitten after only one project, an animal print rug for my bedroom. My fingers flew finishing with record speed, which is strange for me as I normally practice the fine art of procrastination. In the past, I had tried other needle craft such as cross-stitch and needle point, but nothing held my interest for long, leaving discarded and unfinished projects in my cupboards. Hooking on the other hand has become an addiction that I hope will blossom into a profession. A lot can happen in only one year. I am a member of the Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia and I meet weekly with a wonderful group of hooking gals for inspiration and fellowship. Well it is now 2005! How time flies when you are having fun! I'm still going strong and the shop is growing in leaps and bounds. I've expanded from one small room to four large ones and outgrowing them rapidly....stocked from floor to ceiling with hooking goodies. Beginners who wish to try their hand at this wonderful craft, please drop by and I will set up an appointment to get you started. Old hands are always welcome for inspiration and a chat. For those who travel on vacation with their hooking, please drop by and join our Wednesday night hooking group called "The Pleasant Street Hookers". A funtastic gaggle of gals meet at the shop between 7:00 and 10:00 for coffee, tea or wine...no charge. Just bring your project, let's get to know one another and continue to make it a small world. If you need help finding a local B&B or accommodations, email and I will recommend a few places to stay.
Happy Hooking!
