This colour seems to be all the rage.  We can't keep it on our shelves.  A soft, yellowy green for grasses, leaves and anywhere a bit of a happy green is needed.

This spot is great for leaves in the fall, particularly for birch trees as they turn golden instead of orange.  Clusters of garden flowers and flowering bushes.

Early spring when everything is new.  This delightful greenish yellow will fit anywhere for your landscaping designs.  Perfect for in and around a Monet's garden type of scene.

Great for any forest, shrub or lawns where a bit of  brown is needed to show through.  My lawn looks like this with four pups lifting their legs!  Also wonderful for rocks with a bit of moss on them and for around shorelines.

We also call this one Night Sky as it is perfect for those nighttime scenes.  We have this behind our Deer Santa rug and Father Moon Christmas Stocking.  It is also perfect for bodies of water and any place a shot of blue is needed.  Elizabeth Taylor's eyes.

Now this is my favorite of the blue spots.  It goes so well for china teapots in those lovely pottery rugs.  I collect blue and white china so love this complimentary blue.  Perfect for all bodies of water and darker skies.

Wonderful for the ocean, both tropical or round these parts.  Deeper skies, possibly a storm a brewing.  Lovely in geometric designs and all things blue.

Like its namesake, great for mountains in the distance. Great for mermaid tails and sea creatures.  Fabulous for impressionist gardens and bushes that flower.  Centers of flowers, primitive flowers.

Love this ocean colour.  We use it in a lot of our kits, especially the Lunenburg scenes.  A rich ocean, teaming with life.

You won't be able to tell the difference between this wool and its namesake.  Perfect for backgrounds and china.  Any place with a gorgeous blue is needed.  Great for darker skies and any body of water. 

China Blue

This spot looks as if you are looking down into the ocean from the bow of a boat.  Deep ripples of darker blue with medium and lights surrounding it appear as if it is in motion.  This wool is the perfect selection for ocean waves. 

Oceania

More aqua than blue this is another choice for the ocean  or bodies of water of any kind.  Great for background or sky.

This spot dye is so very rich!   You see these colours along the shoreline in Blue Rocks, Nova Scotia and thence the name. 


Mahone Bay

We received call from a women in Michigan to tell us that this particular spot dye was the most incredible in the new book "Dye Me To The Moon"...she said she just had to take a few minutes of her day to congratulate us on another great new dye book.  She said this colour was her favorite.   This is the colour of our Mahone Bay harbour in the fall...dark and brooding...waiting for the autumn storms.   

The Abyss

Another  great ocean colour, this wool will take you all the way to Davy Jones' Locker.  The mysteries of the deep will be revealed as you hook this into your ocean scenes.  Can also be used as a night sky or a wonderful background for any lighter coloured motif.

Grey Marble

I love this spot dye.  There's nothing like it in our collection of formulas.  This picture does not do it justice.   So rich with coppery browns and golden beiges.  This is a piece of wool to begin the journey to hook a rug.  Start with the wool and design around it.  All things bark, rocks, bricks, animals and so much more!

Gorgeous fall colours for all those landscape scenes.  This is what a drive through Nova Scotia in autumn looks like!  We are so lucky to see this kind of beauty right in our backyard.  Great for veins in leaves, clusters of flowers in far off gardens.

This is a very vibrant red, with an orange undertone.  Use wherever a bit of electric red is needed.  Flowers of course and Christmas.

Glads are my favorite flowers so I had to name a dye formula after it.  This is perfect for flowers of any kinds, veins of leaves, impressionistic gardens where colours meld into one another. 

Red Maple

Red maple foliage.  Any red flower.  Antiqued so great for Father Christmas attire.  Poppies, red hair, bricks.  I just used it in the Christmas stocking I am hooking.

Padula Dark

A Padula is a make believe flower.  There are no rules on which colours to use so a bit of whimsy is in order.  Great for primitive flowers, veins of leaves, fall foliage.

So rich and antique looking this delightful orangey red mottle should be on the list for all things autumn.  Perfect for leaves and fall foliage, those red maple trees in the backyard and all manor of flowers.  Perfect for bricks and Christmas themed objects.

Burnished Autumn

This was used in our rug called Nautical Runner that is in hubby's study.  I dyed all the colours to match the decor and this was a combination of the gold, green and rust to tie the colours together and was used for the compass rose in the center.  It was amazing how that rug turned out.  My friend the late Jean Morse hooked this piece for us as a gift.

I've used this colour for years for my Funky Fish bodies.   Whimsical.  It is also used in the Celtic Swirl design on my patterns page.  Great for backgrounds and geometric designs.

Sky Blue Pink

The cover of one of our dye books this is a bit of poison for all those spots where you want a pop of colour.  Flower gardens and funky bathing suits.
